I've been reading Andrew Keen's luddite work "The Cult of the Amateur". A lot of people don't like Keen, which I'm sure suits his polemic purposes just fine, but I frankly find him a bit refreshing, given the extent of the hype around real estate blogging, social networks, and Web 2.0.
One of Keen's points is that Web 2.0 has become write-only, that everyone is broadcasting like crazy but no one's listening. Now with Ning it turns out that not only can everyone have their own blog, everyone can have their own social network.
I wanted to be the first on my block.
